We’ve put together some instructions to help you get the best results for your health. If you have any other questions you can always contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
1) When your bottle arrives.
As soon as the bottle arrives it’s best to put it straight in the fridge. It only needs to be kept refrigerated once it’s been opened, but it tastes great when it’s cold straight out of the fridge.
2) Shake before each use
Before opening the bottle it’s important to give it a good shake and a tap against something to dislodge any sediment. As this is a naturally fermented product some of the ingredients are harder to ferment like the black pepper. If the bottle has been upside down during the delivery this may end up in the neck of the bottle so just push it back in with a clean finger and continue to shake.
3) How much to take?
The suggested daily dose is One to Two (15ml) servings per day. This can be increased to three if needed, however, most people are happy taking only 1-2 servings.
If you have very sensitive digestion it is best to start slowly with either a single serving daily or a reduced dose of 7.5ml twice daily for the first 1-3 days. This will allow your digestion to get used to turmeric before increasing.
4) When to take?
All of the ingredients help to stimulate digestion so it’s important to drink the liquid before eating, ideally a full meal to enjoy the full digestive support.
Drinking a serving before your meal also helps the live cultures and enzymes to pass to your intestines where they are needed. In the morning before breakfast works great as your stomach will be empty and you are setting your digestion up for a successful day.
5) How to take it
Most people enjoy taking a shot by itself straight out of the fridge. If you prefer a milder taste you can dilute it with some water to find your perfect taste. It can also be added to smoothies and juices but generally, it’s best to consume as concentrated as possible.
6) Make sure you drink enough water.
Not only is staying hydrated the quickest win you can get for your health it’s also really important when you’re taking turmeric as it can have a mild diuretic effect in some people. Aim to increase your daily water intake by 1-2 glasses per day.
Is turmeric safe to be taken long term?
Turmeric is a natural food and has been safely consumed throughout Asia for over 4000 years both as a food and medicinal herb.
It is common for people in India and Sri Lanka to consume meals with turmeric in for their breakfast, lunch and dinner and no known side effects have been reported.
We believe that variety is beneficial for the body so taking a few days break from time to time can be beneficial.
Anyone scheduled for surgery should avoid turmeric supplements for 2 weeks before as it can have mild natural anticoagulant properties.
Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18 and individuals with a known medical condition or taking medication should consult with their GP before using nutritional supplements. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
Turmeric is known for its cardiovascular health benefits. It can have a mild natural anticoagulant effect and also helps to naturally lower blood sugar levels. This is a benefit for most people but if taking medication that has a similar action eg. warfarin, aspirin, metformin then there is a risk your levels may become too low and turmeric is not recommended. Always check with your GP as they can make the best call on possible interactions knowing your full medical history.
